31-Days Challenge

Writing novel

I’ve been following the sisters, Emily P. Freeman and Myquillyn {aka The Nester} on their blogs, www.chattingatthesky.com and www.thenester.com  , respectfully, for some time now. I’ve been especially interested in the 31- Day series created by The Nester, http://www.thenester.com/2013/09/31-days-tips.html, that Emily has been so generous in sharing as she journeys with her sister, and a whole lotta’ other women, for the month of October, http://www.chattingatthesky.com/2013/09/25/how-to-write-for-31-days/ .

And while it would be easy for me to spend 31-Days writing about Halloween {I know, I KNOW!}, I really want to stretch this writing exercise in a different way.  Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we {especially, women} unintentionally, but systematically, lose our sense of self piece-by-piece over time. I’m not talking about those big, often HUGE, or traumatic loses of self. I’m speaking of the littler ones that just sort of happen over time: after high school, after college, after marriage {or deciding to remain single, or getting divorced, or becoming widowed}, after children {or the realization that you won’t, or don’t want to, have any}. I’m sure you know what I’m referring to and I’m sure, like me, you’ve wondered, “What happen to HER? I want some of HER back!”

Keep Calm and Stay Positive

So that’s where I’m headed on this 31-Day journey. How about you, are you up to taking the 31-Day writing challenge? If so, visit the links above and see how you can make your journey work for you and your blog. I won’t dare you –> I’ll double-dog dare.
