“We’re taught to be ashamed of confusion, anger, fear and sadness, and to me they’re of equal value to happiness, excitement and inspiration”. – Alanis Morissette
This weekend was not one of the best. It certainly didn’t catch me in any stellar moments. Meltdowns. We all have them. As we get older they become fewer and farther between. They make up for it though by being more intense.
Sometimes you just get fed up and overwhelmed with people and things and circumstances. Sometimes you feel like saying, “If you want to keep me happy — lie to me.”
All I wanted to do was curl up in an autumnal throw, wear warm, fuzzy socks, and drink soothing tea. Didn’t happen. I still love everyone and everything. I just needed a.moment.
Often the blogging and social media worlds have a way of only casting the best light on our lives. Once in a while we have an obligation to let our readers know that our lives are real, just like theirs. Equal doses of beautiful and ugly.
This weekend was a blatant reminder, in my quest to “seek self” during this 31-Day challenge, that it’s not only a good thing that I’m stepping up my exercise routine and have begun both yoga & meditation classes — it’s a necessary thing, as well.
May your week be free of melts, unless they are of the grilled sandwich kind.
Blessings to you, dear reader.
